My first tattoo had to be an important one, in case it hurt too much. So I chose the one thing that saved my life back in the day. Harry Potter and its fandom. I am sharing this story because I feel like it. I was a kid, just 16, and I was very suicidal because of the amount of shit in my life, bullying, rape, and other things. I was very into selfharm as an outlet, but due to my “no cuts in the same place before the last ones have healed”-rule I couldn’t do that,so I distracted myself with a book. I had had it for a few days, borrowed from the library, because as a pretentious little shit that I was, I scoffed at it without having read it.
I opened the book and read “Mr. and Mrs. Dursley of number 4, Privet drive, surrey, were perfectly normal thank you very much.” and I was hooked.
Eleven years later, and it’s still a big part of me, I quote HP on a daily friggin’ basis, and this tattoo is a big effing deal to me.
The M on the snitch - I could fib and say it stands for magic,or muggle,or mudblood. But it doesn’t. It stands for someone I’ll love ‘till the day I die, and that’s that.
The tattoo itself took roughly two hours, no breaks, no stress. I took it at Lucky 7 in Oslo, excellent shop, will defo choose them for my next one.
